Downtown Dayton just got a new spot for celebrations. The Dayton Dragons opened the Diamond Club inside Day Air Ballpark a sleek 5,000 sqft event space with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the field.

It can host up to 225 guests indoors, plus another 110 on the patio, making it perfect for weddings, corporate parties, and community events. The venue is part of the team’s push to make the ballpark a year round destination, bringing more life and energy to downtown even when baseball season’s over.

Hidden Gems

Tableside Guac & Salt-Rimmed Margs—El Asadero Centerville 🄩

A local splash of color and chrome, El Asadero buzzes with upbeat music, warm lighting, and a showpiece bar—energy you can feel as the sizzle drifts from the grill at 101 E Alex Bell Rd #134. The modern dining room doubles as a gathering spot for families and late-night catch-ups, propping up salt-rimmed margaritas and plenty of conversation.

Menu highlights span tableside guacamole, playful Hot Cheeto tacos, tacos gobernador, and a craveable pizza birria—flavors that lean generous and fun without losing their roots. Service moves briskly, smiles come easy, and the vibe says stay awhile.

Centerville’s Living Room, On Tap: Loose Ends Brewing šŸ˜‹

Centerville’s Loose Ends Brewing hums with clinking glassware, copper glow, and the low purr of conversation—an easygoing anchor at 890 S Main St. Founded by father–son team Kent and John Loose, the brewery was built as a neighborhood gathering place first, beer hall second.

The taplist shifts frequently—from crisp lagers to house seltzers and seasonal one-offs—paired with scratch-kitchen crowd-pleasers like the famed crab rangoons, occasional pizzas, and rotating specials. Community energy stays high with pop-ups, car-meets, and fun runs that start and finish at the brewery. It’s relaxed, lively, and proudly local.

Sunlight & South Indian Spice on Lyons: Prems Chennai Delight šŸš

Sunlight pours through the front wall of glass as warm spice drifts across Prems Chennai Delight, a cozy, family-run spot in Washington Park Plaza at 725 Lyons Rd, Washington Township. Engineers-turned-restaurateurs Lavanya and Prem shaped a room where conversations linger and hospitality feels personal.

On the South Indian–leaning menu, dosas crackle at the griddle, Chettinad chicken hums with black pepper and chilies, and biryani arrives fragrant and generous; mango lassi cools the edges. Open since 2017, it’s a neighborhood anchor for families, solo lunches, and unhurried evenings. Takeout stays brisk via online ordering, yet the kitchen keeps a cooked-to-order pace.

Piqua Powers Up: New Data Center Project Sparks Tech Growth šŸ‘Øā€šŸ”§

Source: miamivalleytoday.com

Piqua city officials just approved a 15 year, 100% property tax break for a massive new data center planned at the Shaytura Tech Park. The goal is to attract tech investment, create jobs, and turn the area into a hub for digital infrastructure.

The exemption only covers new construction, so existing property taxes will still be collected. Supporters believe the deal will spark long-term growth, while others worry about high energy use and limited job numbers that often come with data centers. If successful, this project could mark the start of a new tech era for the Miami Valley.

Miami Valley Hospital Buys Church Property for $1.88 Million šŸ’°

Source: DDN

Miami Valley Hospital has purchased Mount Calvary Lutheran Church’s property in Englewood for nearly $2 million, a move signaling potential expansion near its North campus. The site, at 9100 N. Main St., sits right next to the hospital’s existing facilities, though Premier Health says there’s no specific plan for the property yet. The church will continue holding services there for now.

The deal, finalized October 24, highlights Premier Health’s ongoing investment in the Miami Valley region a sign that big health systems are still betting on local growth even as operational costs rise.

Burrow back on field; Bengals open 21-day window šŸˆ

Source: Bengals.com

Joe Burrow returned to practice Monday for the first time since September turf-toe surgery, opening a 21-day window to activate him off IR. He worked in individual drills and won’t play this week, Zac Taylor said. Cincinnati sits 3–6 after the bye and will evaluate his ramp-up over the coming days.

No. 1 Ohio State 34, Purdue 10 — clock control in West Lafayette
The Buckeyes methodically handled Purdue on Nov. 8, owning nearly 41 minutes of possession behind six 5-minute-plus drives. Julian Sayin went 27-of-33 for 303 yards and a TD as Ohio State moved to 9–0. The defense yielded just 10 points while OSU stacked points in a decisive second quarter.

Dayton 77, UMBC 71 — Flyers finish strong to move to 2–0
UD trailed 52–46 with 14:48 left before a late push flipped the game; the Flyers regained the lead at 59–57 and held on at UD Arena on Nov. 8. Dayton is 2–0 after the win, which featured timely buckets from Kobe Jones and AmaĆ«l L’Etang down the stretch.

Jets 27, Browns 20 — special teams swing it
Cleveland allowed a 99-yard kickoff return and a 74-yard punt return 36 seconds apart, then Breece Hall’s 42-yard catch-and-run in the fourth proved decisive at MetLife. Rookie Dillon Gabriel threw two TDs and Myles Garrett logged his 11th sack, but late penalties sealed it.
